Nightguards for Bruxism

“Bruxism” is the clinical term for unconscious teeth grinding and jaw clenching that occurs while someone sleeps. This can lead to sensitivity, cracks, and even wear down crowns and other dental work really fast, but we can keep someone protected with a custom nightguard. Worn only to bed, this small appliance shields the teeth by placing a protective cushion between the upper and lower rows.

Fluoride Treatment

You don’t have to look hard to find fluoride as it’s in most tap water sources and oral hygiene products. For patients who are more cavity prone or experience sensitivity, we can apply a fluoride-rich paste to their teeth following a cleaning, which will remineralize (i.e. strengthen) the enamel to make it stronger and less prone to decay/ thinning (which can help reduce sensitivity).

Gum Disease Treatment

Gum disease, or an infection of the soft tissues that support the teeth, is the most common dental problem in the world as well as the leading cause of adult tooth loss. We can address it using scaling to remove the bacterial-filled buildup at the source of the problem, and root planing will drastically lower the chances of such buildup accumulating again while also kickstarting the healing process.
